About the Academy

Sylvano Simone

In 1997 Sylvano Simone began teaching tennis professionally. His method of coaching proved incomparable in its results, and thus Sylvano Tennis Academy was founded. Each year, Sylvano Tennis Academy has sent countless junior players to national tournaments, college tennis, and the best universities in the nation.

By combining classical tennis form and philosophy with innovative training techniques, the academy is able to achieve the highest level of tennis education. No aspect of the game is untouched. Mental, physical, and strategic training are all included in the curriculum. Sylvano Tennis Academy coaches also believe in forming a close bond with their students in order to support the growth of a great tennis player and an outstanding young adult.

Simon Cheng

-Full academic tennis scholarship to UC Davis.
-Ranked #3 in Northern California Boy's 18division.
-Seven years of coaching experience.
-One year as a program director at STA

Henry Nguyen

-7 years coaching experience.
-One year assistant manager at STA.
-Two years as tennis professional at STA

Denny Fafek

-Full academics scholarship to Fresno State.
-Ranked #2 Northern California Men's Open Year end ranking at age 16.

Alieen Chen

- 12 years coaching experience. Coaching High School teams,juniors and adults.
-Played on Cal Poly tennis team.
-USPTA certified coach.

Francois Vandermerwe

-Coached junior tennis players from over 14 countries
-Assisted Nick Bollietieri. Hitting partner for Maria Sharapova, Tommy Haas and Serena Williams.

Phillip Therpe

-Five years coaching experience in Denmark.
-NCAA division 1
singles ranked #65; Europe juniors ranked #23

Jason Ortiz

-Physical fitness coach. -Certified Personal
Trainner for 14 years through National Academy of Sports
Medicine.
